Christine Teichmann: predators

book launch

Teresa's life is frozen in the moment when her father 40 years ago in the predator cage in the ring in a tragic accident with a tiger is killed. Since then, there is a standstill, local as well as emotional. In addition to Alzheimer's disease her mother, the former trapeze artist Gertraud, and forces them to confront their troubled past. And Jirí, bohemians, Czech, animal trainers, fatherly friend, companion of Teresa's parents in the circus life occurs unexpectedly after years of absence in appearance. He looks at her for himself and his pregnant tigress Sheba shelter and protection from the authorities.
make this some big questions: What happened then in the predator cage really? What impact have the trauma of the Sudeten German mother who has lost during the relocation from the former Czechoslovakia, her family, to her severe disease and indirectly to Teresa? And why do they feel uneasy and guilty?
describes with disarming frankness Christine Teichmann the short period of life in his mid forties Teresa. It sets the hopeless overload, which can offer a life, a degree of humanity wise and courageous, metaphorical (buffoon) joke contrary, make the predators to a moving and comforting, yet wonderfully light reading. The novel deals with big issues such as guilt and familial obligation in the light-footed, almost comedic background of involvement differ by Jiri Tiger. The reader gains a fascinating insight into the world of the circus, but also into that of Alzheimer's disease and its consequences for patients and relatives.
